Other Good Resources
- New Readers Press' Talk of the Block series of short vowel and long vowel readers in four themes. There is a mom with two kids; they make a good starting point for certain language points and lexis.
- Some of the books in the discontinued Changing Lanes series are not bad, though I find them to be a bit long for my purposes. But you may like A Day at Razia's House.
- Whenever possible, I prefer to create a Language Experience Approach book with photos the learners and I take together.
- REEP World has some excellent online resources for lower levels. Too bad it's not Canadian.
