This workshop has passed, but members of TESL Ontario can view it anytime on Tutela by going into the TESL Ontario group events area. All the WEBINAR DOWNLOADS are under FREE - Blank Templates. If you have questions or would otherwise enjoy dialoguing with Kelly and John about the concepts and materials, feel free to use the Flipgrid website or app where we have set up a grid called Back-to-the-Well Club. If you're not comfortable on video, just aim your camera at the wall while you're speaking. No biggie. You get lots of chances to preview and re-record if you're not happy with your video. Flipgrid is fun and easy!

Sending Them Back to the Well -- From Theory to Practice

TESL Windsor's Spring Workshop
May 22, 2015
John and Kelly were together once again for an expanded version of their Toronto presentation. Over fifty educators were in attendance. Having heard the theory behind 'Back to the Well' as presented by John and having listened to Kelly's report on her experiences implementing the ideas, participants explored together how they might use the suggested methods with texts ranging from ESL Literacy to CLB 5/6. Free handouts and editable graphic organizers can be downloaded from my FREEBIES area, BLANK TEMPLATES.

This is the fantastically detailed, screen-by-screen classroom blog "how to" guide with arrows and screen shots. Enjoy!

For an idea of what the workshop encompassed, read our article in the Spring 2015 (Conference) issue of TESL Ontario's Contact Magazine.
The MS Word  graphic organizers for easy implementation of the Sivells' ideas have been added to my FREEBIES pages under Blank Templates.

A Classroom Blog for Beginners

TESL Windsor's Spring 2014 Workshop
Click HERE for details or HERE for the main handout, which is a step-by-step guide to get you started on your first web log on the Blogger platform. One participant whose workstation froze during the presentation took this handout home to follow the instructions on his own at a later time; he said that setting up his first blog using those illustrations was "a walk in the park." I hope the handout is useful to you, as well. In this blog post, "Can a Classroom Blog Save Your Sanity?", I elaborate on why I started using a web log with ESL students and how doing so has kept me--and others--sane on computer lab day.
